About the tablecloths
Our tablecloth fabrics are made of acrylic- or PVC-coated cotton (also known as oilcloth) and designed in Scandinavia. The fabrics are soft and drape like ordinary cotton. Our oilcloths are 55-57 inches wide (as indicated) and are sold by the yard to accommodate the size of the surface you need to cover.
They are a beautiful way to protect a surface during meals and craft projects and can be used as a traditional tablecloth, a shelf-liner, or can even be tucked under a table, pulled taut, and tacked to the tabletop for a neat finish.
I am an American married to a Dane and travel regularly to Copenhagen where I fell in love with the Scandinavian design aesthetic, which injects style into everyday items. Danes set their tables properly -- even for a quick breakfast or an afternoon coffee -- and often keep waxed cotton tablecloths on their tables so that gatherings around the table (especially for families) are relaxed. I found myself buying new oilcloths for the table with each visit and eventually, began bringing them home to friends and family who appreciated both the modern designs and the practicality of being able to simply wipe them clean time and time again.
